The phrase “the leopard never changes its spots” is a good representation of who I am and what I want to get out of life. It all started when I was in my freshman year in university that I was bitten by the entrepreneurial as well as community bug. It played out in a number of ways.
I started a café which incorporate social and community projects on a regular basis, organised a fashion runway to profile youth and raise funds and started a youth organisation to rally young people to get involved in community events. While it may all seem great, today, none are existent. In a sense, these ventures didn’t take off.
But the past couple of years were exciting for me – I got married, started my first job, had a kid, started my second job. Now that things are more or less settled, I’m starting to get restless again. But more than just an inability to sit still, it’s the desire to leave a legacy for my child that motivates me to want to do more.
As such, I’ve decided to start The Good Movement to ignite a movement of love, faith and goodness. How it will turn out, I don’t know but I believe we can all get started in small ways. As such, we are tapping on Mikaela’s first birthday for our first project – toy collection and distribution for Christmas.
Next week, we will be distributing toys as part of the Christmas celebration. It is our wish that these toys will bring joy and spread some love during this season. With this, I challenge you to spread some joy and love this festive season.
